Privacy policy
What this website collects about you, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
The short version
We collect what you choose to give us, use it to answer you and to run our shop, and never sell it. The full policy below explains each part.
In brief
- We collect what you give us: contact messages, newsletter sign-ups and shop orders. We use it for that purpose only and never sell it.
- A few cookies run the cart and note how orders reach us. There are no advertising or social media trackers.
- Under Cameroon's Law No. 2024/017 you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to its use. Write to [email protected].

The policy in full
1. Who we are
This website, mumitaholdings.com, is run by Mumita Holdings SARL, which is responsible for the personal data collected through it. Our office is at Bonduma Gate, 200 m from Bokwai Roundabout, Buea, Southwest Region, Cameroon.
For anything about your data, write to [email protected] or call +237 650 754 393.
2. What we collect and why
We collect personal data only in the situations below, and we use it only for the purpose given.
- Contact form. When you write to us through the contact page, including about joining us as a distributor, partner, investor, volunteer or funder, the form asks for your name, email address, a subject and your message. It emails your message to our team so that we can reply. The website itself does not keep a copy.
- Newsletter. If you enter your email address in the Subscribe box at the foot of each page, we store it in the website’s database with your IP address, your browser and device type, and the date. We use your address only to send you news from Mumita Holdings.
- Shop orders. When you order from our online shop, we collect the details the checkout asks for, such as your name, phone number, email address, billing and delivery address and any order notes, along with what you ordered. The shop also records your IP address, your browser details and how you arrived at the site (see Cookies). We use this to process, deliver and account for your order, and to contact you about it.
- Unfinished checkouts. If you type your email address at checkout but do not complete the order, the site saves that address, the contents and value of your cart, the other checkout details you entered and the time. We use this to see where orders are left unfinished. We do not currently send reminder emails about unfinished orders.
- Accounts. You can order without an account, and the site does not currently let customers create one.
- Comments. If you comment on one of our blog posts, we store your name, email address, any website you give, your comment, your IP address and your browser details, to show your comment and to filter out spam.
- Sign-in protection. When someone fails to sign in to the site, our security software records the username tried, the IP address, the page and the time, and it blocks addresses that keep failing.
- Visits. Whenever you load a page, our web host and Cloudflare (see section 4) receive your IP address and browser details, as with any website. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits and measures page speed without cookies, to see how the site is used.
Live chat, online bookings and event registration are not switched on at present. If we turn any of them on, we will update this page first.
3. Cookies
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. This site uses the following:
- sbjs_first, sbjs_current, sbjs_first_add, sbjs_current_add, sbjs_udata, sbjs_session and sbjs_migrations. Our shop software (WooCommerce) sets these to note how you reached the site, for example from a search engine or another website, and what type of device you use. If you place an order, this is saved with it. They last until you close your browser, or for the length of your visit.
- apb_post_viewed_ followed by a number. This counts one view of a blog post per visitor and lasts a day.
- woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart and wp_woocommerce_session_. These are set when you add something to your cart, to remember what is in it. Your browser’s own storage also keeps a summary of the cart.
- comment_author_. Set only if you leave a comment and ask the site to remember your details.
- wordpress_logged_in_, wordpress_sec_ and wordpress_test_cookie. Set only when someone signs in, to keep them signed in securely.
There are no advertising or social media trackers on this site, and we do not use Google Analytics.
Some pages load content from other companies, which can see your IP address and may set their own cookies. Our fonts come from Google Fonts, the map on the contact page is an embedded Google Map, and the profile pictures on blog posts come from Gravatar. Cloudflare may also set a cookie to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout need theirs to work.
4. Who else handles your data
We share personal data only with the companies that run services for us, only for those services, or when the law requires it. They are:
- Namecheap, which hosts the website, its database and our email;
- Cloudflare, which delivers the site, protects it from attacks and provides our visitor statistics;
- the payment provider named at checkout, which handles your payment details when you pay online;
- Google, for the fonts and map described above, and Automattic, which runs Gravatar.
Some of these companies process data outside Cameroon. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal data for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, and to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations. After that, we delete it.
Newsletter addresses are kept until you ask us to remove you. Messages from the contact form stay in our team’s mailbox for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up.
6. Your rights
Cameroon’s Law No. 2024/017 on the protection of personal data gives you rights over the data we hold about you. You can ask us:
- to tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
- to correct it if it is wrong;
- to delete it;
- to stop using it, or object to how we use it, including for our newsletter.
Write to [email protected], if you can from the email address you gave us, so that we can find your data and know the request comes from you. We will answer as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the authority responsible for personal data protection in Cameroon.
7. How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only Mumita staff with an account can see orders, newsletter sign-ups and other data in the administration area, and security software watches sign-in attempts and blocks repeated failures. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect what you give us.
8. Children
Our website is meant for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
9. Changes to this policy
When the website changes what it collects, or how, we update this page first and change the date at the top.
