Mumita began with farmer groups in 2016. The holding now runs four companies, each with its own name and its own work, and each signs off as A Mumita Company.

We start by organising farmer groups around tropical staples: plantain, cassava, maize, pineapple and tomatoes.
We begin managing farmland for large-scale clients, with input planning, field mapping and reporting.
An entrepreneurship grant from TEF helps us build the business beyond the farm.
The African Development Bank and the Global Center on Adaptation award us USD 100,000 to scale up our climate-smart work.
The Prix Jeunes Espoirs and the Prix Pierre Castel, for agri-food innovation.
Support from Agence Française de Développement and Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie for heavy-duty machinery, operating costs, training and certification.
