This page explains what happens to your details when you use this website. The short version: we collect only what you type into a contact form, we use it only to answer you, we keep it for a year at most, and we do not track you.

1. Who is responsible

Mumita Holdings SARL is responsible for the personal data collected through this website. Our office is at Bonduma Gate, 200m from Bokwai Roundabout, Buea, Southwest Region, Cameroon.

2. What we collect

We only collect personal data when you send us a message through one of the forms on this site. The forms ask for four things:

your name;
an email address or a phone number, whichever you choose to give;
what you are writing about (buying, farming with us, partnering, or something else);
your message.

When the message arrives, the website also records the language of the page you used, the address of that page, the date and time, and whether you gave an email address or a phone number. It also stores a scrambled code made from your internet (IP) address. The code cannot be turned back into the address; it lets us recognise repeated abuse from the same connection. We never store the IP address itself with your message.

3. What we use it for

We use your details to read your message, pass it to the right person in our team, and reply to you by email or phone. We do not use them for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.

To protect the forms from automated spam, the website accepts only a few messages from the same internet connection in an hour. To count them, it holds your IP address in the server's memory for up to an hour, and then forgets it. The forms also contain a hidden field that people never see; messages that fill it in are discarded.

4. Who sees it

Your message is stored in the website's database. Only Mumita staff with an account on the site's administration area can read it, and they use it only to handle your enquiry.

When a message arrives, the website sends a copy by email to our staff mailbox, so that someone can answer quickly. That email carries your name, contact details and message.

The companies that host the website and deliver our email process this data on our behalf, only to run those services. We share it with no one else, unless the law requires us to.

5. How long we keep it

Messages are deleted from the website's database automatically one year after they arrive. The email copy in our staff mailbox is deleted by hand once we no longer need it to answer you or to follow up on what we agreed with you.

6. Cookies and tracking

This website sets one cookie for visitors, called NEXT_LOCALE. It remembers which language version of the site you are reading. It is deleted when you close your browser, and it is not used to track you.

There are no analytics, advertising or social media trackers on this site, and it loads no scripts from other companies. Our fonts and photographs are served from our own server. The map on the contact page is a drawing, not an embedded map service; the link beside it opens OpenStreetMap only if you click it.

Mumita staff who sign in to the administration area receive the extra cookies needed to keep them signed in securely. Visitors never do.

7. How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted connection. The administration area is at a private address, requires strong passwords, and locks an account for an hour after five failed sign-in attempts; to do this it records the username tried, the IP address and the time of each attempt. The website's own logs record only the reference number and type of each enquiry, never its content or your contact details.

8. Your rights

Cameroon's Law No. 2024/017 on the protection of personal data gives you rights over the data we hold about you. You can ask us:

to tell you what we hold about you and send you a copy;
to correct it if it is wrong;
to delete it;
to stop using it.

Write to info@mumitaholdings.com from the email address or phone number you used in your message, so that we can find it and know the request comes from you. We will answer as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the authority responsible for personal data protection in Cameroon.

9. Changes to this policy

If the website starts collecting anything new, we will update this page first and change the date at the top.
