Mumita Foods

A mother’s touch in every bite. We turn African vegetables, fruits, snails and mushrooms into safe, ready-to-cook foods that keep their taste and their nutrients.

Naturally African, globally nourishing

We turn African vegetables, fruits, snails and mushrooms into food you can cook in minutes.

The name Mumita stands for warmth and nourishment, like food made by a mother. We work with smallholder farmers, especially women and young people, and cook for busy, health-conscious people.

Dried vegetables are light and keep on the shelf. Frozen ones are ready to cook. Both come in clear, resealable pouches with the nutrition facts on the label.

What makes it ours

Two Mumita staff in white coats load a tray of green leaves into a stainless drying cabinet

From field to pack

Five steps, in our own units

Most of what we process is grown by farmers we work with, then handled in our own cold rooms and processing units at Bonduma Gate.

In the field

Smallholder farmers, many of them women and young people, grow the leaves, guided by our agronomists.

Into the cold room

Produce is graded and kept cold, so less of it spoils between the field and the factory.

Washed and cut

The leaves are washed and pre-cut, under hygienic, food-grade conditions.

Dried or frozen

Into the drying cabinets or the freezer, so they keep their taste and their nutrients.

Into the pouch

Weighed, sealed and labelled, then packed by the carton for shops and distributors.
